What CPOE Means

CPOE (completion percentage over expected) compares a quarterback's completion % with what an average passer would complete on the same throws. A 5-yard checkdown is easier than a 30-yard throw down the sideline; CPOE gives credit for hard completions.

ACE (Accuracy Compared to Expectation) is QuarterbackStats.com's rating built on that standard idea: completions minus the expected chance on every attempt, from a model we publish with its coefficients on What We Track. ACE per 100 attempts is the per-throw version.
